The Advancement Intern supports the Advancement Department through a variety of administrative, clerical, and event-related tasks. This role provides hands-on experience in nonprofit administration, event planning, and donor engagement while contributing to the mission of Wedgwood Christian Services.
Priority for this internship will be given to two semester students. Bachelor's level internships for 2025/2026 school year pay $14hrly.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain and update the Advancement team calendar, scheduling meetings, reminders, and deadlines.
Monitor and respond to general inquiries made to the Advancement team via email, phone, or mail.
Assist with data entry, report generation, and donor record maintenance in CRM systems.
Coordinate logistics for Advancement team meetings and donor visits: reserve rooms, order food, prepare materials, liaise with Facilities, work with volunteers, and manage cleanup.
Support preparation, set-up, and follow-up for major events and smaller donor-related gatherings.
Provide administrative support for special initiatives such as Client Birthday gifts, celebrations, and seasonal campaigns.
Assist in organizing physical and digital files, inventory of marketing and event supplies, and routine office operations.
Collaborate with the Advancement Event Coordinator and Marketing team on communications, mailings, and promotional content.
Create and format documents, presentations, and spreadsheets for Advancement use.
Maintain and update contact lists, event tracking sheets, and calendars in coordination with team members.
Attend and participate in regular supervision and team meetings for feedback and planning.
Take initiative in identifying improvements to systems or materials that enhance team efficiency.
Participate in professional development opportunities, including training sessions and agency-wide initiatives.
Promote open communication, timely feedback, and positive problem-solving within the team.
Maintain regular, predictable, and reliable attendance during assigned hours.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in nonprofit management, business administration, public relations, psychology, or a related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite, and comfort learning database or CRM systems.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Interest in the nonprofit or human services field preferred.
Subscription to the Statement of Faith of Wedgwood Christian Services and agreement with the goal, purpose, and objectives of the agency.
HOURS OF WORK: Part-time, variable hours
